Alone Rewrite 4

Note: No idea what this was.

Alone Rewrite 4
________

I moved with unparalleled quickness through the crowd looking for my target. I caught her scent and moved in the direction it was coming from. There she was, standing amongst other people listening to the blasting music that was giving me difficulty tracking the man in black that were moving through the crowd blocking my escape routes. They know I’ll only appear at times like this. It’s an annoyance showing myself to the world that I hardly know anymore. Why I do this I don’t know and I don’t care. There making me intervene and it brings me distress and its destroying everything I worked hard to maintain.

They were beginning to corner me. The loud music renders me helpless to the surroundings. Makes it easier for them. But how did they know. The question that’s bugged me since I woke up, since I got out of my prison.

They were moving through the crowd still. Not knowing what to expect.

I moved quickly and silently so as to not let my prey know I’m right next to them. I was on them before they got within 5 meters of my target. I incapacitated the first and second men closet to her. They were like jackhammers responding to the threat before they knew what was happening. The next one had barley registered me before he was down too. Not good, still rusty. Normally I’d be done with them by now. The forth tried to block my first blow and ended up getting smashed into the ground unconscious. The fifth talked desperately to something that wasn’t there, confusing me for a second just before he was down as well. The men at the doors smelled afraid but stood ready for a strike. How wrong they were, they weren’t ready for me in the least.

The sound of something chopping the air outside the building awakened a distant memory, from my escape of the prison. I heart beat shot up and I moved too quick for a human eye to track and rendered another three unconscious. The crowd noticed the disturbances, moving away from my victims.

Summary:

A Girl is dragged into a war that has never ended, the living dead. Unknowingly her bloodline has the power to call forth a being of incredible power, but is only available in dire need.

I know I suck at Summary's...

Set in the Hellsing OVA series after Episode 7.

Prologue

Oblivious to everyone else Millennium has another trick up there sleeve.

Using a young girl they planned to use her blood line to call forth a power greater than they could ever imagine.

The girl bound, gagged and blindfolded doesn't even know what's going on. She feels weak and the need to sleep.

For weeks she has been locked up in a small room, having little to eat and drink. Unable to see through the blindfold that covers the top of her forehead to the bridge in her nose.

She's tried to remove it before and still tries now, holding it there is the strange stone set in knot. Emanating a strange power that continues to weaken her body and just as she wakes again she hears rattling noises, covering her ears from the yelling people around her she's being loaded into crate. Unable to see and locked in a small box adding to her confusion.

Below her London is in flames.

Feeling the rumble she's then thrown backwards and slammed into the crates side, pushing all the air out of her small body. Unknown to her the small plane rockets forward towards the ground at frightening speeds before climb upward again and landing in a clearing. Surrounding the area, Men with red eyes and Nazi symbol's stitched into their clothing dart around continuing to clear the area and assemble symbols in vague archaic form around a massive circle indented into the ground. Joining the circle to each symbol and side crisscrossing lines overlap and in twine, creating a complex formation of lines. Symbols drawn, blood red in color are being drawn all around the circle and between lines.

In the center lies four poles that look like they've been rammed into the ground, attached to them chains and shackles lie in wait for their victim.

The girl, after been thrown around in the crate. Semi dazed is dragged out into the open, hungry glances turned her way. But turning away quickly to continue with tasks.

Half running, half dragged the girl is brought to the cent of the circle. Shackles attached around her ankles and wrists causing her to writhe in fear, again the hungry faces turn her way. Feeling the glances she slowly stops and the men move away to out skirts of the clearing. One man, or some would say monster kicked the girl to get up.

"SINGGG!" The monster next to her yells, shrinking away from the noise. She softly begins the song passed down to her from her Mother, as she sings she gains courage and sings louder building in tempo. The melodic voice drinking up everyone's attention, including the unwanted attention moving away from their attention.

Coming to a pause in song that hasn't been finished the man kicks her again, whimpering she starts back into the song. The man chanting next to her as she kept repeating her song, the whole area lighting up in a silver-red glow.

From afar Sir Integra along with her escort Section 13 looks towards the glow and turn towards it, sensing danger.

As the girl continues on with her song, the lullaby gets louder of its own accord. The girl unknowingly stops, getting another kick that nearly broke bones. Gasping she stands again and continues singing, the circle glowing brighter as spheres of light danced from the sky down towards them.

As the group spots the clearing and lights flashing they hear the faint lullaby pick up in tempo and begins to hurry.

Upon entering the clearing they start to unleash hell cutting down everyone down in their path to stop whatever was going on.

Surprised the red eyed people turned and began the gruesome onslaught on both sides.

The girl in her heart just wanted the loving embrace of her family and then to her surprise where she left off the song continued on. Sung by a voice that lifted her spirits, she joined in. Her voice entwining with the others.

As Sir Integra, Anderson and the rest of Section 13 fought to get to glowing circle, a voice rang though the air. Stopping everyone in the clearing as they watched the lights dance.

As the songs tempo increased the lights glowed sputtered and then a giant beam of light, swirling a silver-white-red combo struck the ground.

Everyone watched in ore as wings encircled where the girl stood along with the man. As the being unfurled its giant wings eyes darted to where the smiled up at the being face. As if saving the girl from hearing what was around her she placed her to the ground asleep.

The being took a step away, chains impatiently sprang from the earth points ready to pierce through joints to constrain it and as if the suddenly hit a wall the stopped and then disintegrated. The monster that suddenly stopped chanting looked towards the being in hate.

All eyes were stuck to its head wanting to see its face, already entranced by its mere beauty, others in hungry abandon.

As if a cord struck, its singing stopped and Man looked in fear at the creature. All breathing halted as it turned to face its unknown attacker. The man was blown away as a giant wave enveloped the surround area destroying everything in its path. Monsters disintegrated, the now small group now turned and ran. Many stayed and prayed and then the wave slowed and stopped. In its wake there were no bodies or blood, only the smell of newly upturned earth and then like someone had suddenly rewind time stone and earth moved. Rebuilding everything as good as new, like it had never been touched.

Anything alive in the vicinity openly gaped at the sight before them, watching as wings broke apart feathers flying everywhere.

The little girl, held in the arms of her savior.

The being that dubbed an Angel walked the girl to the recently rebuilt fountain filling with water. Laying her against it she stood and turned, finally facing the onlookers directly.

Her silver eyes swirling a sliver blue glow and gradually becoming distinct silver, until blending with red. Wolf like ears on the top of her snow white head, plated armor slowly forming on her body and a red and gold trimmed half cape stitched itself together across her back.

Another resounding wave boomed around her, but nothing happened. Until you looked at the little girl a swirl in blue-silver light sleeping peacefully and looking completely content in her dreams, The blindfold removed and nowhere to be seen.

Filtering through the girl's subconscious 'must protect' hearing the comment. The dubbed 'Angel', began transforming at an alarming rate. Shining Armor of some unknown alloy flowed around her body still, increasing in speed, links slipping into place silently as she continued walking forward.

As the stares continued no one noticed the small wolf that lay down by the girl's feet, position protectively around her, as a weapon began forming in her hand.

A massive stone sword, big enough to be a claymore formed in her hands. Adorned in symbols, a part of her renamed so many times in the past. Mostly known as the 'Ice Sword', without slowing her pace the angel continued walking right up to the group. The gaping had stopped as the stunned silence took over, as in a matter of mere mile-seconds she was gone past them. Energy flaring, trickling everywhere. Energy Raw and dangerous making a mix of slow moving spirals to wave through the air, as if tasting it.

Seconds later there was a bang, louder than a sonic boom. Eyes darted to where she was headed, only to see a mass of inter laying archaic symbols light up. Chains lifting from the ground trying to capture its prey again and again, until finally its power died.

The 'Angel' back at the girl's side glowing as her shape changed again into a broader and bigger version of her Sword. Glowing ever so brightly in the ground, the now noticeable wolf transforming to a young girl looking about 15 picked up the sword with grace.

Looking like a younger version of the 'Angel' before.

Armor Clinking she leaned against the fountains wall, water now flowing freely. As she touched the girl she awoke, smiling up at the older girl in front of her. Hugging her with happiness, the older girl place a thought into her mind.

'What now?' Pondering the younger girl looked towards the small group still with mouths gaping, the 'Angel' not bothered in the slightest.

BUT SHE WAS NO ANGEL…

Alone Rewrite 3
________

I speed through school halls where there should be teenagers wandering about and fiddling about in their lockers.

The War had finally started and I was checking each and every space for students who didn’t get to the Gym quickly enough. Vampires were everywhere but I had no time, some tried to grab me, some shot at me and others tried to bite me. None succeeded or if they did I shoved them out of the way, 3 quarters of the school I had searched.

I’d found only 5 students, 2 dead, 2 being attacked and 1 was barely alive. I’d raced them to the gym destroying anything in my path, my energy crackling and swirling around me. Providing a barrier, I had broken 2 of my seals. Already my sword was moving about in front of me, controlling it with my thoughts I watched the blade slice through everything that got in my way. But still I couldn’t find her, my charge, the one I had to protect. Even at the cost of my life she must live, my oath to protect her could not shatter.

I could still feel her, but it was faint. Another vampire jumped in front of me, changing into my wolf I charged through it as claws connected severing the head. I didn’t stop to watch the body decomposing to catch up to the years it had lived. More vampires came at me screeching and hissing going for my throat. One hit me and smashed me through the wall into a classroom, rolling I dislodged him and bit into his neck and tore while my foot was planted on his chest. Another one gone, how many were there?

As I turned I felt as my charges energy surged, trouble. Her energy surge rising because of a high emotion, Fear.

Smashing through walls and tearing down anything in my path I reached her, ghouls had circled her. Wasting no time I changed back as much human as I could and broke seal 3.

Energy surged around me as my armor formed on my body, the ghouls just started turning as I grabbed my sword and swung through one and shattered the one behind its skull. Three others became limp bodies as I sliced and spun upwards. Changing again I chucked her on top of me and thundered through the halls. Armor still forming on my shoulders, vampires came at me. Putting my body in front of my charge they scratched and tore my body as the sword worked creating a path to the gym.

Upon coming to the door I changed form again opened the door and through her in as at least 7 vampires slammed into my small frame. The door not able to hold broke.

As soon as I landed I killed the first 2 lying next to me as I stabbed them both in the heart with a tactful lunge. Another swing got three as they pounced again, fangs glinting. 2 more came from behind, I punched 1 in the face indenting his skull and slammed him into the floor splintering the wooden floor and making a small crater. The next one a little smarter jumped back millimeters from my sword as it arched past his neck and then coming down for a down ward swing he darted around me. Sticking my hand out I grabbed his neck, letting go of the sword it hovered in mid air. Grabbing his shoulders his voice rang out.

“Please don’t.” In a whisper. Then he shouldn’t have attacked me, clamping down on his shoulders I ripped his head from his shoulders and burned his body to dust from the close contact as my metal gloves formed on my hands. Breaking seal 4 and 5 I focused on a barrier around the gym, holding my hands out the archaic symbols danced around me and as I sent them fourth. This would take only moments,

BANG! A shot rang through the air. Time slowed down even more as I checked where the bullet was coming and going to impact.

I watch as it headed for my head and noticed it was silver my sword danced in front of me to protect as shots rang out. But trying to erect a large barrier and fend off bullets, one was going to get through. Then just as I knew it would my sword missed one. The trajectory path wouldn’t hit me but the girl behind me, my other self didn’t like her. Should I let it hit?

NO, he might yell at me the other self screamed. So I stepped in front of her stop the bullet, I couldn’t move the sword quick enough just using my mind.

I felt it hit my armor on my chest. But because it was silver it would get through, I watched helplessly as it passed through and touched my skin. Pain ignited and the burning started as it still moved through my body. Slowing it down was all I could wish for. The pain as I remembered was excruciating, stumbling I continued building the barrier as more bullets rained towards me.

Breaking seal 6 the energy erupted like lightning and then the barrier was complete, it would hold I hoped.

Dropping my hands, I fell to my knees. The clang of the recently formed metal was like an echo in my head. I spun around looking past all the faces that my other self spends her time with. There were hundreds of people close together, fear emanating of them in massive waves. It burned my nose.

The muffled sobs and crying quieted down as I heard a crunch behind me, turning around I moved my head out of the way as the only vampire left swung at me. Dodging I grabbed his neck and ripped up a plank of wood from the broken floor around me and slammed it into his chest. I watched as he turned to dust, an older vampire. We were lucky he was the only one so far.

Again I noticed the burning pain racking my body I tilted forward and blacked out.

“Kelly!” someone screamed out, the name my other self uses.

Alone Take 2

_________________________________________________
I grabbed the old bin bag as I was walking past and swung around and walked out the door onto the street. It was cold tonight, better hurry then.
As I was walking back to the door I overheard something. It was like a growl, but it sounded wrong for some reason. "Curiosity killed the cat." I said to myself and walked around my yard and jumped over the broken fencing that leads into the empty block between my house and Rowans, my childhood crush. That's where I thought it was coming from, unfortunately I was right.
_________________________________________________

I woke up screaming. I hurt all over, every sense hit me like a wave and I struggled.
I heard someone next to me "It's all right Kelly." But I couldn't stop, it hurt too much and every time I screamed it felt like a release. It felt better and then I felt something wash over me. It took away the pain, but I was too far out of it yet to make much out of blurry, distorted vision and ears ringing but feeling nothing either.
I lay like that for what seemed like hours, not knowing where I was. Until I fell asleep to the soothing tone that echoed in my ears when the ringing started to fall away.
I awoke again, my head feeling like a pinball machine. But I felt better, although my hearing was strange. Like I was hearing differently altogether and something strange. Something that was lying over my legs, it was warm and soft. It felt nice.
"Are you awake Kelly?" Someone called to me. I opened my eyes and quickly shut them, everything was so bright. I smelt lots of strange things to and something that needed a wash. I opened my eyes slowly and looked at the angel face hovering over me. Until I realized who it was and then I went deathly quiet. Where am I? I thought and why is he looking down at me. Oh know did I fall over?!? That's really embarrassing, I sat up and got pushed back down softly again. I looked up at him confused. I was lying on a bed in someone's house, not mine I'd recognize mine in an instant and I'm not at Jesses. Her rooms littered with teddy bears, so where am I?
"Are you alright Kelly?" Rowan asked at the same time I asked "Where am I?"
I instantly cowed and went limp.
"I'm fine." I tried to say, but it came out like whisper. My voice sounded funny and so did everything else. "Where am I?" I asked again. This time more slowly, my throat was hurting. He gave me a worried look, "My house." He said. I felt my face go red and something strange moved around my legs, I felt something different to. I don't know how to describe it, like something soft patted my head. I also noticed I wasn't wearing my own clothes, I was wearing a t-shirt that was 3 sizes too big for me that had 'I'm bored' written across it with a little character sleeping below it and black shorts.
My face went even redder.
"Um..." I said to myself, confused even more.
"There my clothes." Rowan stated bluntly. If I could go any redder I'd be like a beetroot.
I looked at Rowan again and went limp from his look, he had a concerned look on his face. My heart skipped a couple of beats as I took in his features properly for what felt like the first time. I'd been trying to avoid meeting him when I started high school because everything I said used to come out wrong or I was just mute.
His green eyes were giving off enough radiance for me to start dying right now and I wouldn't care. His blond hair was cut neatly around his neckline in a sought off surfer look and his athletic body was giving me the tingles.
I looked down at myself and noticed that my slim little figure was doomed. I wasn't in any way a sports person. I was always told I was too small for most things and I quit gymnastics a year ago because I didn't like the new coach. She wasn't very nice to me, so I didn't go back.
My hair looked strange, it was paler. I need to get some hair products into it, I felt through it a bit more and I was a little startled to find silver hairs in there. I quickly searched through it some more while Rowan was watching me with a vivid curiosity.
My stomach growled and I stopped what I was doing and went red again.
"I'll go get some food in a minute." he said and my stomach growled at him. At least I think it did, I was confused more than ever. I sounded more like it was coming from my throat, weird.
"Shush!" He demanded and I instantly went quiet again. I was trying to hide beneath the covers and hugging the pillow when he said "You're not human anymore, so try and act like it." My heart skipped a beat and then I just gave him a puzzled look. What is he going on about? I thought.
"You're a Werewolf." He added. He was probably waiting for a big reaction, none came. A werewolf? What is he going on about I thought? "Come with me." He said nicely, it came out like a demand and I was beside him wondering what I was doing. Something bumped my legs and I looked down, I nearly screamed. He just grabbed me and pulled me into the bathroom. "Calm down. Now look at the mirror." He said in that soothing tone again. I did what he said and froze,
"What's that on my head?" I said quietly and nearly dropped to the floor when the pointy things on top of my head dropped.
"You're ears." He replied.
"My what?" I answered in a voice I could hardly hear.
"You're ears." He said again. I just looked at him with a mixture of confused and horror. "It will take a little while to sink in." "Look down at your legs." I looked to where he was pointing at. There was a fluffy matted thing against them. I followed it up past my knees and around my hips, it came out just above the shorts I was wearing. Pushing them down a little,
"Am I dreaming?" I asked
"I hoped so. But no you're not." He replied, I sunk to the floor and he knelt down next to me. "Wash you're self up and come down when you're ready." "You'll feel better and I put some clothes of yours next to the bath." With that and he walked out and closed the door.
I took in the room around me. It was clean? What kind of guy is he?
The mirror was above the basin opposite the bath and the shower was next to it in the corner. My clothes were draped over the side of the bath, how'd he get them I wonder. But then how did I end up in his room like this, I just come up blank. Is this all true? I looked at myself in the mirror again, had to be. You don't get ears and a tail like that for no reason, but then aren't werewolf's bloodthirsty animals? I'll have to ask.
I got undressed and slipped into the shower and examined myself and made the mistake of sniffing the air, I turned the shower on quickly.
Once I got out I had a hectic time trying to dry myself. In the end I shook myself dry, weirdly enough I was dryer and confused why I did that. I looked through the clothes he brought over and died a little inside. I knew he didn't have any fashion sense but this just puts it all into a whole new level.
So I just threw them on. He'd picked out my grey top, the sleeves were down to my elbows. Some black cargo pants and my jacket that I wear to my brothers every weekend. When I was done I walked into the room I'd been in before. Wow, that's all I could say. It was really plain, nothing that made it unique at all. I had a look at his desk, but there was nothing interesting there either. I gave up and headed down stairs.

Chapter 1

“Feel better?” Rowan asked from somewhere nearby.

I smelled something weird, why am I smelling things?

“I don’t know.” I said quietly to myself as I stepped into his kitchen. It was the same as his room and some bacon that I couldn’t stop staring at. It smelled good, I could almost taste it in my mouth.

“Stop!” I froze, I couldn’t move. It felt like something was holding me in place. It felt like it did when, when I was asleep. I couldn’t feel anything.

“Try to control yourself Kelly.” “That’s my breakfast too you know.” He walked over and grabbed something from me. But I wasn’t holding anything was I? He held a strip of bacon in front of me and my mouth watered. Great now I was drooling in front of him.

Hang on rewind, my mouth was watering at the sight of meat? But I’m a vegetarian and when did I get that?

“Kelly look, I know it’s hard.” “But you have to fight it.” Suddenly feeling came back and I dropped to the floor confused. What was he talking about, he hasn’t really explained anything to me and what I’m a werewolf? Since when and how?

I pulled myself off the floor and sunk into a seat at the table. “I’m confused.” I said.

“Well, I’ll explain most of it to you in a sec. OK?” Rowan said,

“OK.” Was my quiet reply. I noticed that I was staring at the bacon in the pan cooking and tried to turn away unsuccessfully. It just smelled so good.

I held my nose to block myself from jumping towards it.

“Try and get used to it.” Rowan said with his back turned, scary.

“Used to what?” I asked quietly,

“Smells.” He simply stated. I took my hand off my nose and took in as much air as I could through my nose. There was so much and the bacon was so good, I found myself staring at it again and I turned away successfully this time. Staring at a rather interesting spec on the table.

“What happened?” I asked

“You got attacked by a werewolf.” I didn’t remember that. “I took you in to try and help. I don’t want any more victims, there’s too many already.”

“Victims?” I said and shuddered.

“Yes victims, just you’re the only one who survived. You’re lucky you were so close.” He said as he dumped some egg and bacon on my plate and I fell on it quickly, forgetting about what he just said.

“Stop!” He yelled. But I could still move this time.

“Look at what you’re doing.” He pointed at the plate where I was grabbing the food with my mouth. I was really freaked out now, this was just plain weird. I dropped what I had in my mouth and swallow the rest.

“What.” I tried to say but it came out more like a squeaky “Wha...”

“Kelly.” I looked at him, I was more than just freaked now.

“Yes.” I said in a voice barely able to understand.

“You have a different kind of instincts now.” “You will have to adapt to them and learn how to control yourself.” Rowan said.

“You mean the food thing?” I was barely above a whisper.

“Yes and there will be a lot more.” I paused trying to take it all in.

“What do you mean?” I asked

“Just imagine a dog.” A dog?

“There similar to werewolves in a way. But..... Well you know.” No I don’t, not really. This is all new to me. The only thing I really know about werewolves is that silver hurts them, they have to become a wolf on the full moon and that they kill people.

“Will I change on the full moon?” I asked stuttering.

“Yes.”

“Will I hurt people?”

“Not if you can control yourself. Otherwise...” He let that hang. I didn’t want to know the rest.

“Does silver hurt?” I asked so quietly I’m surprised he even heard me,

“Yes.” I looked down at the food losing some of my appetite, but not enough for me to stop eating.

I sat there eating my food in silence for a few minutes before he spoke up again.

“You’ll have to stay here for a few days, to get used to it.” He said, my heart skipped a few beats. I knew he was right though, the food thing proved that.

I simply nodded, I was still hungry.

He finished his plate and walked to the sink and washed it.

“Still hungry?” He asked, becoming the Rowan I thought I knew.

“Sought of.” I said, I just ate twice as much as him and I’m still hungry? I dismissed it as a werewolf thing and moved on to my next lot of bacon and egg.

“You can’t tell anyone.” He was looking directly at me with his hands crossed. I don’t know why I did it, but I sunk lower somehow.

“OK.” I said quietly while sinking into my chair. I finished my plate, washed it and went into the living room where Rowan was watching TV.

“How come you know so much?” I asked before I cowed out.

“Because I hunt things like you. That aren’t human, there my speciality.” He answered, I was stunned, speechless. “Don’t worry, I only hunt the bad guys though.” He said it like it was nothing, my heart flip flopped.

“Why?” I asked scared to death. I’d gathered that I wasn’t human anymore.

“Because that’s what my family’s done since the plague.” He answered.

I’d had enough information for one day so I sat down on the floor, some drama was on. If only they knew what kind of drama this was.

On the first ad break, something started rubbing the top of my head. I didn’t notice at first, but then it felt nice and leaned into it for better spot.

Before I knew it I was asleep.

Chapter 2

Something grabbed me in my sleep, startled I opened my eyes quickly and I was nearly blinded by how bright the room was. It hurt and I started kicking and screaming as I was pulled across the floor. Something was slapped around my wrist, tightened and whoever grabbed me let go. Instinctively I tried to move away from them, but as I tried to move I was held back by whatever was on my wrist.

Then my wrist felt like it was on fire, like fire was surrounding the cuff. It hurt a lot.

I cried out and tried to pull myself free only to encounter more pain. I heard someone crashing around in the kitchen and then Rowan come running out but he didn’t look at me. He looked behind me. I turned around and found a gun pointed straight at me.

I stared at it. For some reason it felt wrong like the gun was danger, like fire?

“It’s loaded with silver and the cuffs are lined with it too.” The woman in front of me stated. I gulped moaning in pain, my wrists hurt a lot more than they did before.

“Jessie don’t!” Rowan said.

“Why not, she was in your house Rowan.” “Werewolves aren’t natural and look at her, she’s more unnatural than any I’ve ever seen.” She replied. I felt like I was a caged animal, but then maybe I was.

I felt sick now, not like I was going to throw up. But like I was suddenly tired, everywhere stung on my hands.

“It really hurts Rowan.” I called out in little more than a whisper. “I. Don’t. Feel. So. Good..”

“Shut up, Dog!” The woman yelled at me. I tried to get further towards Rowan, away from her. I ended up unable to move properly laying on the floor. My hand hurt so much it was unbearable, I tried to move up to it.

Something hit me in the head. I cried out as more pain registered and then I couldn’t see anything anymore. I knew I wasn’t asleep because I still felt the pain. Then I heard what sounded like Rowan.

“Are you alright Kelly?” His soothing words cut through the pain and it seemed to slip away.

“Where are you?” I shakily asked. I felt something drop, my arm.

“Right here Kelly.” He said right after. Then I remembered the woman.

“Can you turn on the lights, it’s too dark?” I asked. I could only just hear myself.

“I can’t move.” I stated.

“The lights are still on Kelly.” Rowan relied. “You can’t move because of the silver, it’ll get better.”

“Why can’t I see you?” I couldn’t hear myself properly, I was scared. Did I do something again?

That’s the last thing I remembered when I woke up, the woman was watching me beside the bed I was in. I instantly tried to move away and fell off the side, I crawled underneath the bed and curled up into a ball hoping for some safety. Her head poked under and I instantly started shivering.

“It’s alright, I’m not going to hurt you.” She said. But I didn’t believe her for a second, I got further away towards the corner.

“But keep it in mind.” “You do anything strange and..” She showed the gun she pulled from somewhere. I don’t know why, but I hugged my tail for moral support. It helped a little.

“Stop it Jessie!” Someone else yelled. “You’ll make her worse.”

Tears escaped from my eyes, this was all too much. I broke down, tears were streaming down my face. I don’t get it, ‘Rowan?.... Rowan?..’ I don’t know what anymore, I started crying.

“Kelly, Kelly.. It’s alright she’s not going to hurt you.” Rowan called to me. I tried to stop crying unsuccessfully.

“What happened, that night?” I asked him in between sobs.

“Nothing you want to remember.”

Alone

Just a note, this is stuff I wrote years ago.

Alone
_____

Claire’s POV

The moon is rising, I have to keep moving. I can already feel the tingling sensation numbing me. My chest feels like it’s about to rip open, she wants out. But I have to reach somewhere safe first. I haven’t lived this long to get caught in this situation again. I always planned nights like this one carefully. It’s the only time that I can’t stop it. She must break free. If I keep her in too long she’ll burst out of her cage where I keep her under lock and key. These nights I’m much more dangerous than you could imagine and I’m only 13. Well 13 for a long time anyway, emphasis on the long and no I’m not going into detail. If you haven’t guessed by now what I mean I’ll spell it out for you. I’m what you call a Werewolf and right now the Moon is rising. Tonight the moon is full and I don’t have a choice but to change. Unfortunately I can’t change yet. I’m to close to the city and I’d rather not be shot or wake up in the pound. Yes that has happened and let me tell you, it wasn’t funny. Well not for me anyways. I knew that the darts put me to sleep now. Tranqlizers they called them and no I don’t pay much attention in the world. I’ve been told I’m simple minded.

Tonight I had been careless. I was so enticed into the TV that I fell asleep. I’d only noticed about an hour ago what I was meant to be doing. Now I have to find a safe haven somewhere in the city instead of my nice and cosy house just out of the city.

I’ve owned it since the beginning of the 1900th century and that’s only one of my houses. I’m not really hell bent on being rich but it does make everything a lot easier. I took it for granted and now I’ve got private inspectors breathing down my neck. I should snap there’s. But that’s not me talking. Well it is my instincts anyway and it’s hard trying to suppress them. When I change I found that my wolf self tends to prefer eating animals than actual people and I try to make sure she does as well. Unfortunately when I’m like that I’m not really in control of myself, more a backseat driver and she likes being petted, unusual I know.  Kind of ruins the whole scary werewolf thing right? Not really. When I first changed I nearly killed my brother. Luckily he knew it was me at the time and the only way to get changed revolves around getting large quantities of werewolf blood mixed into your blood stream.

It hurt like hell too and I didn’t get a choice in the matter.

I was walking back to my parents house a very long time ago and stumbled across a man named Caren, who at the time. Took my breath away, I was engaged at the time. I know, 13 is pretty young to get married. But I loved my fiancĂ© with all my heart. He was killed by Caren and I was dragged away. He told me ‘You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen’. I thought he was crazy. I thought he’d completely lost it when he drew the knife from his pocket cutting his wrist in the process. Before I could even scream he had cut mine as well and smashed both our bloodied wrists together. After I’d passed out I’d been out of it for 3 days. Only awake enough of the time to hear a few words I couldn’t understand and screaming in agony. When I woke up on the 4th day my whole body was in pain. During that time he’d told me what he’d done to me and I’d screamed and cried at him for the remainder of the week as he’d brought half dead people to me. I couldn’t control myself at the time. It’s a painful memory.

After that I’d never looked at the world the same way.

My brother found me about a month later. He helped me get away, but not before he’d disposed of Caren with my help. Caren was a pure blood. So that made me the last one left. The last with pure blood in there veins.  Making me a prized possession to any other werewolf or hunter.  We’d travelled everywhere after that.

My brother never thought of me as a werewolf. At least I think he didn’t. In those days I’d stayed in wolf form because it had been more comfortable. I’d stayed by his side until he settled down and made a family. I’d left him then, but remained protecting them and his descendants until up to now. I suspected he knew. The day he died I’d howled until the sun rose. I still howl for him. I’d attended his funeral from afar. There were many people and even in human form I’m afraid of crowds. I’d really stick out because I’m a werewolf. I’d scared everyone attending when I started howling for him.

These days I’ve tried to mould into society to better protect his blood line. Through the centuries past I’ve always stayed by there side, mostly from afar and they’ve wrote story’s about me. To them I’m an ancient ancestor who still protects them now, in spirit. If only they knew.

I’d reached the park now and I knew I couldn’t go any further. The pain is too great.

I ran into the park mostly as a blur and changed in the bushes. First came the pins and needles, then the cage that I’d tried to hide my true self in ripped open. I gasped struggling to breath and arching my back. The change was coming on quickly and I was in extreme pain. I’d waited to long and as the change ripped through every part of my body I fell to the ground, vision blurring, sharpening and changing, senses become so acute I smelled the bin 20 meters away from me and puked. Making the pain even worse then it was. As my senses were already acute in my sort of human form. Yes I’ve forgotten what I used to look like after spending year after year as a wolf with my brother. Not that I regretted it and as the memories came flooding back. The pain lessened and I felt some comfort.

How long has it been since I’ve ever gotten close to someone. I’d only met a few people after my brother who accepted me. 2 of those were from his blood line and when I come to think of it. I don’t exactly know how old I am. Wolf instinct demands hardly let me think like that any more. I would check it later after I’ve cooled off.

As I’d already had my tail, ears and some other features still wolf in my human form the change didn’t take long and the wolf in me relished in being herself. We both enjoyed it. We both didn’t want to go back to human after this. But I knew I had to. Even if some characteristics were just a little different.

For example, humans don’t have tails. Even in human form I still have my tail. I also have my wolf ears which stick out on top of my head. If you’re wondering why, I can’t remember what my ears looked like and my tail stays to comfort me. My teeth, eyes and probably something else but I don’t take much notice aren’t normal either. Hearing from the top of my head is natural to me now because of the years gone by.

I remember when I last talked to my brother in human form I was slightly more human. I still had my tail and ears, possibly my eyes as well. I couldn’t talk to him properly either. These days I settle for being a mute. I can hardly remember how to talk like a human. I’ve tried really hard but so far I can only manage short words that really hurt my throat. I get my meanings across using my emotions and physical actions and I can still slightly write. I was never taught properly either so it’s an achievement because I’m too scared to try out a school. I don’t like being alone but I’m too scared to try. My lawyers nice but I don’t trust him.

Unfortunately my brother’s blood line has slimed in numbers this past decade. There’s only a handful left and I’ve centred myself on protecting the blind one of the family. She wasn’t born blind. I watched from a tree just off from the school road everyday. Watching her, wishing that someone would help me cure my loneliness. I felt confused. Wolf was in control and she wanted it more than anything. I know I wouldn’t harm her or anyone else in her family. I can smell my brother’s blood moving through their veins.
I went over to her house and sat below her bedroom window when I wasn’t hungry anymore. I could smell her, it made me feel safe and warm and I fell asleep.

Sam’s POV

I woke up from the noises outside my room. They swallowed me up and overwhelmed me. I was used to waking up like this. Ever since I lost my sight 4 years ago. Painful memories stirred of when I used to be able to run around and play with my friends and see the colour around me. Seeing the flowers and grass, the clear water and staring into the sky. It hurt knowing that I could never do most of that ever again. Instead I see a never ending sea of white. No shadows, no blurry outlined figures. Just the cold emptiness of seeing nothing but that White Sea.

I got up and walked over to my wardrobe hoping that it was right where I left it even though I knew it would be there.

My hand touched it and I began changing into my school clothes. I still missed never being able to see my beautiful hair and I wondered what I looked like now. I knew a lot had changed. I was told my eyes were the brightest blue, my hair was a honey brown and I was constantly told by my mother that I was beautiful. But really I didn’t know, I’d never know.
I was still short but it didn’t bother me. It actually helped my blindness.

As I left my room I heard a sound as if someone was jumping outside. I only heard it once though so it was probably nothing and I couldn’t go check without damaging my ego. Something was defiantly out there though.

Claire’s POV

I woke to the rising of the sun still in wolf form. I changed back to my near human state and climbed the tree near her window. I looked at my self in the reflection, nothing different. Same old glowing blue eyes. My brother’s blood line had still kept that traight. My hair had changed colour when I became a Werewolf, it was now a bright white with strands of black that were darker in some places. It reminded me that I looked like a beautiful white wolf. I smiled and kept a tighter lock on my cage. I wanted to be wolf again. At least I blended in with wolves, I had the height of a 10 year old so my body mass was average in wolf terms.

I own her families house so it won’t be demolished. It’s old and looks odd among the different buildings that line the street, out of date. I would get the house rebuilt and the occupants a house somewhere close by to stay until it was completed. Then they could move back in. The house was falling apart and I knew it needed to be demolished. I’d had to do it so many times now to my houses. I would have to ask Jerry. He was not just my lawyer, he was a bunch of other things. He knew what I was and looked after me and my funds. I knew he took money from me but I didn’t mind. I had a fortune and he was smart enough that no one else would notice. We had an agreement.

I jumped down from the tree and settled in the bushes just out side the living room windows. Watching her as she sat down and ate some breakfast. Her brother wasn’t home much anymore. I liked him because he reminded me of my brother in looks and how he acted.

My stomach growled and I growled back at it.

I left to go back to my house just as one of her friend’s arrived to walk with her to school.

Sam’s POV

I walked down stairs to the kitchen to get my breakfast from my Dad. I was never going to see my Mum again. She died as I lost my sight. I have disliked my Dad since that day. He was driving.
“Here’s your breakfast Sam.” My Dad said and he placed the plate in my hands. I muttered a ‘thanks and headed for the living room to eat. He hated it when I did.

Just as I finished I heard another out of the ordinary sound from out side and placed my plate on the kitchen table when I heard Millie walk up the steps to our front door.

Because I’m blind my other senses are more acute. My doctor explained that it’s my body’s way to compensate for no eye sight. It has its upsides.

Just as she was about to knock I opened the door and let Millie in.
“It’s really freaky when you do that Sam.” Millie said as she came in the door. I shrugged and got my school bag from the hanger just by the door. I called to Dad
“I’m leaving for school now Dad!”
“Ok Sam. Be careful today!” He called back from the Kitchen.

Claire’s POV

I got back to my house in less than 10 minutes. Anyone who saw me, which I highly doubt. Only saw a blur pass. My hair flowed around me as I stopped in front of the door. It then started sitting around my neck and shoulders.

I walked in through the front door and headed straight towards the kitchen. I opened the fridge and dug out some food and immediately began chewing it. It was good and I tried to savour the taste as long as I could. That wasn’t very long.

I had a bath and got dressed for the new day. Not that needed a wash or anything. It was just what people did these days. I don’t blame them either. Some people nearly make me throw up its that bad.
